What Are Graphic Tablets Used For?.

Graphic tablets can be used in place of a mouse. They use the fluid motion and natural positioning of the human hand to its best advantage. Using a graphic tablet is as easy and as comfortable as using a pen, pencil or airbrush, as the case may be, and they are being used in more and more industries.

1. Illustrators, Animators, Photographers & Graphic Designers

Illustrators and animators have been using graphic tablets since their inception, and photographers and graphic designers have found them to be very useful. The ability to pick up a "pen" to direct drawings or mouse movements is a much more natural way of drawing, painting and moving a cursor around.

2.Industrial Design, Architects & Engineers

Industrial designers, architects and engineers use graphic tablets because the digital pen feels more natural to hold and use. This allows them to design more freely and quickly.

3. Medical & Healthcare

Medical and health care facilities use graphic tablets to save time. Doctors can write prescriptions and orders with a few clicks and sign them right on the screen.

4. Education & Training

Teachers and professors use graphic tablets along with projection screens or large-screen monitors to aid them in teaching and demonstrating techniques. This works much the way a pointer used to, but instead of having to draw out the diagram over and over for each class, the teacher simply pulls up the file and demonstrates the subject, using the digital pen to enhance the diagram for the students.

5. Business & Office

Many businesspeople, such as sales professionals, use graphic tablets. They use them in much the same way that educators use them. Businesspeople use them for presentations and for demonstrations of their products or services.

6. GIS Mapping & Control Systems

GIS (geographic information systems) mapping and control systems use graphic tablets for their ease of use and natural feel. Cartographers, geophysicists and civil engineers use them for creating maps and graphics, and to easily select coordinates or analyze data. Emergency response and other control systems can be operated more safely and accurately, as graphic tablets make moving menu sliders and other controls easier and quicker and keeping the control center up-to-date with quickly accessible, up-to-the-minute data.
